John has over 17 years of experience working in a consulting engineering environment. He has been exposed to a wide variety of industries providing Engineering Services relating to the design, analysis and improvement of mechanical systems and components. His background includes conceptual design, finite element analysis, product development, cost reduction, project management, component test design and manufacturing support.
Recent work experience has been related to the aerospace industry providing engineering services to a major Aircraft Engine Manufacturer. Over the past 8 years, John has been responsible for the overall management and implementation of individual projects as a Project Team Leader. Project assignments include brainstorming and implementation of new cost reduction ideas, introducing product improvements, addressing field issues and providing manufacturing support of aircraft engine hardware.
In addition, John has supported a variety of development programs responsible for the design, procurement, assembly and component test of aircraft engine hardware. These efforts require conceptual design, analysis and concurrent engineering disciplines in order to meet tight schedules and specific testing requirements.
John has been involved in consulting throughout his engineering career. His past experience is related to detailed finite element analysis of mechanical components for general industry. General responsibilities included evaluation of pressure vessels per the ASME Pressure Vessel Code and Naval Structural Design Basis, seismic analysis of structures per the Uniform Building Code, strain gage testing of rotating equipment and analysis of process equipment for the fiberglass industry.
John earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University. While studying at WVU, he obtained recognition as a top student and was elected to Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Kentucky.
